You don’t have to be in crisis to seek a therapist.

Sometimes people choose to work with a therapist to proactively maintain their health and wellness. Some seek a therapist to gain additional coaching to become the best version of themselves. Others seek therapy to heal and be well!

Therapy is about loving yourself enough to courageously do what’s necessary to heal, transform, and manifest a life of peace, ease and happiness.

Your therapy journey can take place online…

Thanks to the evolution of online technologies and recent outpouring of HIPAA compliant telemedicine software designed for medical and mental health professionals, you can now receive the benefits of therapy from the comfort of your own home or workspace!

There’s no need for any fancy software. All you need is a computer, or iPad, and a stable internet connection.

Or in our office…

But it will always begin with a free 20-minute phone consultation.

During the consultation, you’ll have an opportunity to introduce yourself, express how you would like us to help you, ask questions about our services, get a glimpse of the benefits of therapy, and decide if we are the best therapeutic option for you at this time!

If you don’t feel that therapy at AUM is right for you from our first conversation, we’ll provide you with a referral that may be a better fit.

Therapy begins the moment you schedule an appointment!

You did it.

No more swimming through the daunting – and anxiety provoking – task of finding the right therapist!

You finally did it!

Now what…?!

Your first homework assignment! Yep, that’s right – HOMEWORK! Remember, therapy happens every day of the week, not just when you are in our office.

The real change happens between sessions, when you get to practice being extraordinary!

You’ll receive some intake forms to read, fill out, and sign. Our intake form is comprehensive and robust, and is designed to give us a clear picture of your challenges, your goals, and vision for your future.

This first assignment is one of the most important parts of your therapeutic process.

This is where you’ll set the stage for the kind of commitment and effort you want to dedicate to your own healing.

You got this!

It then becomes our job to develop an individualized holistic wellness treatment plan specific to your mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and relational needs.

This plan will serve to guide our work together as you heal and begin to thrive.

About Our Team

Ashley Ray, LCSW-S, CCTP, TIYT

Founder & Clinical Director

2003 was a year of healing and transformation for me. Yoga, meditation, breathwork, studying psychology, and participating in therapeutic work allowed me to shift from feeling like I was the victim of my circumstances to becoming the active creator of my life.

I learned how to create a life, and self, that I love!

Since then, I’ve dedicated my life, work, and passion to the conscious evolution and growth of self. I’ve helped others heal, grow, and transform so that they also manifest the life and self they most desire.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas, Dallas, and my Masters of Science in Social Work with a clinical focus from The University of Texas, Austin.

After graduate school, I served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Caribbean for two years, teaching emotional intelligence to at-risk youth. Upon returning to the states, I focused my skills in the areas of crisis intervention, trauma, severe, and chronic mental illness. I didn’t lose my island flare, and I still have fun installing dreadlocks for others in my spare time!

Before founding AUM Integral Wellness, I was the Clinical Manager for a crisis intervention agency, managed a behavioral health intervention project at the Dallas County jail, and headed a project in the Psych ER of a local hospital. All the while, I continued to study and receive training in the utilization of researched-based eastern and indigenous healing practices.  I have learned from some wonderful mentors.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Reiki Healer, and certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT). My formal training and experience as a clinical psychotherapist and my holistic framework and expertise in alternative therapies allows me to provide a truly unique, fun, soothing, and transformational experience for every client I serve!

Mukti Devi, TIYT, MA Clinical Counseling Candidate

Holistic Psychotherapist Student Intern, Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher

I feel called to work with human folks who are experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety or anyone who suffers with the thought that life was supposed to be more than this. Using somatic interventions and an integrative therapeutic approach, I help people learn to be the creators, authors and healers of their own lives.

I support people in returning to their True Self, a state of being unencumbered by social stories or limiting beliefs, a state of inner freedom. Using a humanistic and person-centered approach, I utilize the strengths that already dwell  within an individual to draw forward their innate self-worth and self-love. Bringing a background in trauma-informed yoga therapy, rehabilitative pilates, and many years on a dedicated spiritual path, I offer allyship and unconditional positive regard for everyone I work with, no matter their current circumstances.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Contemplative  Psychology and am completing my Masters in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling studies at Naropa University. Most notably, I received five years training while living in India in both Tibetan Buddhism and Advaita-Vedanta while living and serving within a monastic ashram community. I am a practitioner of Jungian Tarot, Shamanism, Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda and Vedic  Astrology. Forms of self-care that I practice regularly include meditation, herbalism/plant  medicine, drumming, yoga, tai chi, cooking, poetry (haiku), and walking barefoot on the Earth.  I live with my beloved partner and plant family.

I am under clinical supervision with Ashley Ray, LCSW-S while completing student internship hours.

Small changes can lead to drastically different outcomes over time. With simple skills and tools, we can learn to communicate more effectively with our self, our body, and our fellow humans.

I support people as they cultivate inner awareness and actively design their future. My goal is to create a warm, accepting environment in which you feel safe exploring both the light and the dark.

I specialize in anxiety, addiction, relationship challenges, and spiritual counseling. I am a counselor and trainer at the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas and a teacher-in-training of B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy. In my free time, I can be found in my ice bath, reading, experimenting in the kitchen, and going on walks with my partner and Cattle Dog.

If I have he privilege of working with you one-on-one I will blend intuitive counseling, spiritual life coaching, energetic repatterning, Reiki, and meditation techniques into a special alchemy that supports you in balancing your energetic field and aligning with your higher self and souls journey.

What Clients Have to Say

“I started therapy with Ashley a couple of months ago now and the time I’ve shared with her has offered me so much insight into myself and the world. Her wisdom in all areas and her way of communicating it, is mind blowing and something you can’t help but be thankful for. She has a beautiful way of making everything flow organically so things never feel awkward. In fact, it feels as though she’s just always in sync with you.
As someone living with mental illness and everything it comes with, I can say she’s had a profound impact in helping me actively cope and live with or move on from things.”

Uraenia, 21, Artist

“I would recommend online therapy to anyone because I personally found it to be very effective in a short amount of time. I feel like I made much more progress in 6 sessions than friends have made in years of therapy.”

Anonymous, Germany, F

“One of the things I liked most about holistic psychotherapy with Ashley is that it was not hours of endless talk therapy analyzing details, and was instead about cultivating awareness, shifting perspective and building a set of tools/practices that could be put to use and be effective IMMEDIATELY!”

“A breakthrough I had in therapy was being able to face and sit with emotions instead of being overwhelmed by them and repressing them. I am better able to step outside the constant river of thoughts and not so easily be swept away by them.”

Anonymous

“I would recommend Therapy in The Park for anyone who needs a little extra help finding ways to cope with mental health challenges, stress, anxiety, etc. The environment was very relaxing. I liked learning mindfulness tools that I could apply in me ‘real’ life outside of therapy.”

Ariel B., 23, Student

“I have had experiences with maybe three therapists in the last 10 – 12 years. After being introduced to yoga about six years ago, I found great benefits in the yoga experience. Eventually, I felt that I needed to
seek out a practitioner that was a traditional trained therapist that also weaves into the therapy yoga philosophy and meditation. I found that here, with Ashley.”
